August 31, 2023 — Companies issued impact bonds at record levels in 2021 before multiple headwinds caused the market to cool in 2022. While new issuance has rebounded in 2023, with $607 billion in USD equivalent bonds issued worldwide in the first half of the year, US companies have not been keeping pace with global trends.
